“Synjectos®” is consisting of a powder and liquid system.

The powder and the liquid is mixed in a defined ratio, resulting in a viscous paste which is hardening into an apatitic mass, similar to the mineral phase of bone.

Synjectos® is based on European technology
and sold in Europe since 2006. Since then more than 20.000 patients have been treated with it.

The liquid syringe is injected into the powder syringe, which than is mixed (by means of vigorously shaking) into a tooth paste like consistency. After bringing into the defect bone, the paste hardening into a solid mass which enables to take load and which can be resorbed by cells and transformed into own bone.

The Synjectos® has been developed and designed to be used in all bone defects stabilized by an appropriate surgical procedure at the fracture site, e.g. humeral head fractures, distal radius fractures, tibia head impression fractures, calcaneal fractures, filling of benign bone cysts or filling of bony defects after bone harvesting for autologous bone graft and filling of bone cavities of collapsed VB fractures such as wedge fractures (A1.1 and A1.2, A3.1 after additional surgical stabilization) after fracture reduction procedures.

The advantage of Synjectos® over its competitors’ products is in that powder as well as liquid is provided pre-filled in sterile syringes. The sterile liquid is transferred directly into the powder containing syringe. By avoiding open mixing no contamination by air germs and no spill of material will occur by using the advanced formulation in combination with its packaging. Also mixing mistakes caused by spill of material during transfer out of glass vials into a mixing bowl like in case of its competitors’ products will be avoided. The package concept of Synjectos® also saves resources and avoids excessive garbage in the hospital.

Synjectos® is provided in a prefilled syringe containing the powder and a second syringe containing the liquid. Both syringes are closed with an obturator and the syringes are packaged together with a transfer device in a sealed aluminum pouch. The pouch is packaged together with an IFU in a card box.

Synjectos® is mixed by injecting the liquid into the powder containing syringe by means of the transfer device, following by shaking of said syringe thoroughly for at least 5 seconds. After that the material is entirely mixed and the resulting paste can be applied directly into the bone defect.
